As the holidays grow closer, Kacey Musgraves debuts a sparkling, retro-inspired video for "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?"
The closing track from her recently released holiday album A Very Kacey Christmas, Musgraves' cover of the 1947 Frank Loesser song – first made famous by mid-century R&B group the Orioles – is simple and affecting, and the new video, which shows a glammed-up Musgraves crooning in front of a large clock, suits the song's somber mood.
"Just a little eye candy celebrating 1 of the most glittery yet melancholy parts of the year," she tweeted in advance of sharing the Shane Drake-directed clip.
Musgraves has been on the road in support of the album, as well as making the rounds on late-night television. She also already has New Year's Eve plans of her own: joining Jason Isbell and John Prine for a special show at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House.
