Watch Eric Paslay Strut in ‘High Class’ Video
Lanky ginger Eric Paslay hardly looks like the kind of guy anyone would expect to be a dancer, but the new video for his single “High Class” proves the singer has some legitimate moves. The Wes Edwards-directed clip premiered today on Vevo.
If the song caught some fans and critics off guard with its slick incorporation of brass and funky drumming — not to mention eyebrow-raising lines like “Escalade these Luccheses, Caddle-up this lac” — the “High Class” video paints a vivid picture of the social escapism at its core. At the beginning, Paslay appears in his ordinary street clothes, marching through a restaurant kitchen like Henry Hill in Goodfellas before magically transforming to a sleek, all black ensemble and shades. While ballroom dancers twirl around the floor, Paslay commands the club stage with hip-shaking confidence.
There’s also a fun game of spotting Paslay’s fellow country artists and family. Maddie & Tae make a brief appearance, as do Kristian Bush and Paslay’s wife Natalie. Perhaps the most striking and memorable cameo of them all is Charles Kelley, sporting a preposterously opulent white fur coat.
Currently Paslay is taking his deft dance moves to stages everywhere on Brad Paisley’s national tour. His second album is due later in 2016.
