Minutes after performing her Christian-country crossover hit, “Something in the Water,” on last night’s CMA Awards, Carrie Underwood debuted the song’s music video on Twitter. (Watch below.) Directed by Raj Kapoor, the four-minute clip features more than a few things in the water, including a 16-member choir and a 12-member dance troupe. Everyone splashes around a flooded soundstage while Underwood stands in the middle, giving it up to God in a series of rotating outfits.
It’s a stunning clip — equal parts baptism, tent revival and modern dance routine — and it helps pave the way from next month’s Greatest Hits: Decade #1, a two-disc compilation of radio singles, live performances, work tapes and new tunes. Underwood co-wrote more than half of the album’s 25 tracks, including “Something in the Water,” which was penned alongside Chris DeStefano and Brett James.
Meanwhile, last night’s performance may be one of Underwood’s final appearances for some time. Her first child — a boy, as revealed by CMA co-host Brad Paisley during last night’s show — is due this spring, requiring the ever-busy singer to spend more time at home.
