Watch Cam Cap Off Smoldering Year With Live ‘Burning House’

‘Untamed’ singer hits ‘The Today Show’ days after new album’s release

Coming to the end of a banner year that included two record releases, a Grammy nod and a fall tour with Darius Rucker, Cam visited The Today Show yesterday morning, performing “Burning House” with help from a four-piece backup band and some simulated flames.

Although not her debut single, “Burning House” helped kickstart the songwriter’s career earlier this year, selling well more than 500,000 copies in the process. That makes it the bestselling song by a female country singer in 2015 — a strong feat for a newcomer whose debut album Untamed hit stores the same year as new releases by Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire and Kacey Musgraves. Once the New Year arrives, Cam will keep the flames burning with a winter tour alongside Brad Paisley and Eric Paslay.

In the performance above, Cam — dressed as always in highlighter yellow — draws attention away from the fire-filled video screens behind her, thanks to a voice that’s capable of delivering its own sparks.
