Thomas Rhett Plots First Headlining Tour: The Ram Report
After six Number One songs and a platinum-selling album, Thomas Rhett is finally graduating from opening act to headliner. The “Die a Happy Man Singer” will hit the road this February for his first-ever headlining trek, dubbed the Home Team tour, with special guests Kelsea Ballerini, Ryan Hurd and Russell Dickerson. The trek will hit 15 cities including Rhett’s new hometown of Nashville, where he’ll perform at the new Ascend Ampitheater.
Rhett has technically headlined before – but on CMT’s tour, during which he shared top billing on the marquee with Brett Eldredge. He’s also been an opening act for Blake Shelton, Toby Keith and Jason Aldean. The singer-songwriter says he’s excited to finally take the reins.
“This is really the first time we’ve been able to totally build our own stage and really plan for our show with all our fans,” says Rhett. “There has been this undeniable energy out on the road this year, and I know having Kelsea out there is going to amp things up even more. Having my own tour also gives me the opportunity to introduce some people I think are going to explode in the next couple of years and help give them a platform to reach the fans, like how Blake, Toby and Jason did for me. I’m a huge fan of both Ryan and Russell and I can’t wait for my fans to get to know them too.”
