In the midst of a sprawling, often sold-out two-week European tour, the Cadillac Three have announced a new string of U.S. dates. The Black Roses Tour – presented by the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour series – will kick off in January and stretch through March, with special guests Aubrie Sellers, Brent Cobb, Quaker City Night Hawks and Texas music rebel Ray Wylie Hubbard on various shows.

“Seeing the huge crowds on our current European tour singing back every word has sparked a fire in the three of us,” the Cadillac Three’s singer-guitarist Jaren Johnston tells Rolling Stone Country, checking in from Belfast, Ireland. “We are so excited to announce the Black Roses Tour, and we’re bringing some pretty amazing friends.”

The diverse nature of the support acts, who will appear on select dates, underscore the hard-to-identify nature of the Cadillac Three, which, with Johnston, is rounded out by drummer Neil Mason and lap-steel player Kelby Ray. Sellers marries slashing garage-rock guitars with a country voice; Cobb sings introspective, country-funk songs with a drawl as thick as Johnston’s; and Hubbard is an irreverent Lone Star State icon. The Cadillac Three have been known to weave in some of Hubbard’s “Snake Farm” into their unpredictable sets.

The Black Roses Tour takes its name from a line in the band’s live fast and die hard anthem “Bury Me in My Boots”: “send me on my way with some black roses / this the path I’ve chosen and you can’t go with me.” The song is the title track to the Cadillac Three’s major-label debut, released last August.
