Born in the birthplace of the King of Rock & Roll — Tupelo, Mississippi — Paul Thorn knows a thing or two about shaking it onstage. Much like Elvis Presley, Thorn has distinguished himself early on in his career with a live-performance energy that has enraptured audiences. He set out to capture that spirit on his latest album, Too Blessed to Be Stressed. Set for release August 19th, the album is streaming exclusively on Rolling Stone Country.

“The songs on Too Blessed to Be Stressed come from little nuggets of wisdom that friends and strangers alike have shared with me,” Thorn says. “This project became an opportunity for me to pay it forward.”

Such good vibes are all over the album. Opening track “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright” is a bluesy rave-up, while “I Backslide on Friday” says it’s also alright to indulge those weekend demons from time to time.

“I believe music has the power to heal people,” Thorn says. ” I’ve seen it do just that and I hope something here helps someone get their joy back.”

Earlier this year, Thorn appeared on the Jackon Browne tribute album Looking into You, interpreting “Doctor My Eyes,” alongside such artists as Don Henley, the Indigo Girls and Lyle Lovett. Currently on the road, he is one of the featured performers at the Americana Music Festival next month in Nashville.
