With the recent release of her debut project The House Sessions, singer-songwriter Jenny Gill is poised to step out of the shadows of her famous musical family – her mom is Janis Oliver of Sweethearts of the Rodeo, her dad is Vince Gill.
Now the young singer has released a new music video for the easygoing “Lonely Lost Me.” The song’s jazz-pop bounce and uplifting chorus are paired with vibrant visuals of Gill singing in bright sunlight and enjoying some personal time with her young son Wyatt. Gill ends the video with a “for Wyatt” dedication and credits him for inspiring The House Sessions.
“The final motivation to actually get my music out there definitely came from my son,” Gill tells Rolling Stone Country. “The pride I feel for my parents, I want Wyatt to feel that way about me.” While Gill continues to navigate the waters that come along with her famous name, she’s becoming more content to let her music do the talking. “Being the offspring of someone famous is just my story, it isn’t who I am. My songs will tell you who I am.”
“Lonely Lost Me” appears on Gill’s The House Sessions, which is available now.
