For Runaway June’s debut video ‘Lipstick,’ the new country trio brings the bouncy tune to life on the open road – embracing the breeze in a ragtop, dancing in a motel room, and strumming their way through a dive bar performance.

With a cameo from country musician Luke Pell (who also appeared in season 12 of The Bachelorette) and a perky pillow fight between band members Naomi Cook, Hannah Mulholland and Jennifer Wayne, the clip certainly doesn’t shy away from cheese. But with its dobro- and fiddle-infused melodies, there’s no denying that the upbeat, Dixie Chicks-channeling tune has some staying power.

“Our co-writer, Rebecca Lynn Howard, had found this meme on Pinterest that said, ‘Be with someone who ruins your lipstick, not your mascara.’ She brought it in, and we were like, ‘That’s a great song idea,'” Wayne told Rolling Stone Country. “Naomi jokes that everyone had been saying, ‘It’s five o’clock somewhere’ for God knows how long, and then someone thought to write it – that song did alright. So hopefully this will follow suit.”

On November 18th, Runaway June will play East Carolina University’s Minges Coliseum for Parmalee’s Second Annual Feels Like Carolina Concert.
