See Parker Millsap’s Blistering ‘Hades Pleads’ on ‘Austin City Limits’

Singer-songwriter concludes appearance with opening track from ‘The Very Last Day’

Parker Millsap is known for fiery live performances, channeling the raw energy of his genre-defying recordings through a stage persona that’s too big to capture in a recording booth. In late January, Millsap will make his Austin City Limits debut as part of the beloved show’s 42nd season, alongside South Carolina indie darlings Band of Horses. Watch an exclusive premiere of Millsap tearing through “Hades Pleads” from the episode above.

The opening cut of Millsap’s 2016 third studio album The Very Last Day, “Hades Pleads” is a rapturous romp down the River Styx that shows off Millsap’s impassioned vocals and his impressive harmonica chops. It’s the final song in Millsap’s ACL set, which also includes “The Very Last Day,” “Heaven Sent” and “You Gotta Move.”

The Very Last Day was one of Rolling Stone Country‘s 40 Best Albums of 2016, notching the Number 32 spot. Standout track “Heaven Sent” earned a nod on our 25 Best Country Songs of 2016 list.

Other artists slated to appear in upcoming episodes of Austin City Limits include CeCe Winans and St. Paul and the Broken Bones on February 4th, and Foals and Alejandro Escovedo on February 11th. Millsap’s episode will air at 9 p.m. ET on January 28th. Check your local listings for more details.
