See Old Dominion Sing Clever ‘Song for Another Time’ on ‘GMA’
Old Dominion dropped by ABC’s Good Morning America today (August 22), showing off their current single, “Song for Another Time” and its crafty use of classic song titles. Currently inside the Top 30 on Billboard’s Country Airplay radio chart, the track is all about living in the moment and wringing the last few intoxicating drops of romance out of a vacation fling.
Lead singer Matthew Ramsey offers up a plan to his summer flame: Let’s save the sad songs like “I Will Always Love You,” “Sunday Morning Comin’ Down” and “Candle in the Wind” for later, and keep on partying to tunes like “Paradise City,” “Brown Eyed Girl” and “Sweet Caroline” instead.
The track is the follow up to Old Dominion’s back-to-back Top Five singles, “Break Up With Him” and “Snapback,” which went to Number One and Number Two respectively.
Later on GMA, the band also revealed the dates of their fall headlining tour, a run of more than 30 shows with up-and-coming singer-songwriter Steve Moakler called the Meat and Candy Tour (Meat and Candy is also the name of Old Dominion’s debut album). Beginning September 22nd at the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio, the tour will crisscross the country and also includes 15 special dates billed as Stagecoach Spotlight: Old Dominion Meat and Candy Tour, part of the massive West Coast country festival’s first ever traveling concert series.
