See Maggie Rose’s Revamped ‘Same Sky’ from the Opry Lounge
In its original form, Maggie Rose’s “Same Sky” has echoes of the sleek dance pop that Taylor Swift and Robyn have mastered, yoking a boom-clap beat to electric guitar riffs and showers of synthesizer. The song appears on Rose’s Variety Show, Vol. 1, which was released in April 2016.
But Rose recently performed the song live backstage during one of her frequent Grand Ole Opry visits and transformed it into something entirely new for the Live in the Lounge series. With only acoustic guitars and a bass accompanying her, Rose reveals new layers to her chronicle of separation from an ex with soulful embellishments and a pained, honest delivery.
Tonight (May 27th) Rose will perform at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Artst in Bloomington, Illinois. Her summer tour itinerary also includes shows opening for Lee Brice, Tim McGraw and Rachel Platten.
