She may not be pageant material, but last week Kacey Musgraves proved she can keep up with the legendary Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders when she invited the group on stage during her concert at the State Fair of Texas.
Without any introduction, the cheerleaders appeared midway through the Texas native’s performance of “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’,” the Nancy Sinatra hit that Musgraves regularly performs during her encores. During the song’s instrumental outro, Musgraves even danced a bit with the cheerleaders, ending the song in the middle of a squad pose.
“Kicked off the State Fair with a buncha Dimestore Cowgirls,” Musgraves wrote on her Instagram after the Dallas performance. “Tonight was so Texan!”
Musgraves’ performance with the dancers comes just shortly after the “Dime Store Cowgirl” singer appeared on an episode of CMT’s Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders: Making the Team. “The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders are a group of girls that I’ve always really admired,” Musgraves said in the episode, which aired last week.
Starting in November, Kacey Musgraves will be touring behind her new Christmas album, A Very Kacey Christmas. See tour dates here.
