See Justin Moore’s Seductive ‘Somebody Else Will’ on ‘Today’
One of the big surprises of Justin Moore’s latest album Kinda Don’t Care was hearing the normally traditional singer try out contemporary production on several songs, including his new single “Somebody Else Will.” Earlier today, Moore visited NBC’s Today Show to perform the song.
Written by Kelly Archer, Adam Hambrick and Tebey Ottoh, “Somebody Else Will” is as sleek and polished as Moore gets, driven by a hypnotic bassline and peppered with spacey effects. Moore and his band incorporate their rock & roll side with those synthetic touches on Today, ramping up the urgency of Moore’s anxious chorus about trying to approach an attractive stranger with crashing drums and reverb-heavy electric guitars.
“I didn’t try to go chase something down,” he told Rolling Stone Country before Kinda Don’t Care came out. “I wanted to create something that was still me that wasn’t compromising what I really enjoy about country music but something that sounds modern. I was kind of nervous about that, because I don’t ever want to contradict myself from a music standpoint.”
On January 12th, Moore will join his pal Lee Brice to kick off the co-headlining American Made tour in Indianapolis. Next up, he’s got a November 19th show with Maddie & Tae and William Michael Morgan in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
