See Jake Owen Hit the Road in ‘American Country Love Song’ Video
Jake Owen’s new single “American Country Love Song” built on such quintessentially American images as airbrushed t-shirts from Daytona and Bud Light longnecks, using them as a way to describe a kind of romance experienced by many. Appropriately, the song’s video doubles down on the Americana love fest by hitting the highways of the southern United States.
Directed by Jeff Venable, the clip features scenes of Owen driving his light green 1960s Volkswagen Microbus from Nashville to Key West — a four-day trip he made back in February. Accompanied by his dog, Owen makes pit stops at fireworks stands, restaurants and roadside attractions, meeting new people along the way and seeing the sights. Viewers will see shots of Chattanooga, Owen’s Florida hometown of Vero Beach, and the Southernmost Point in the United States in Key West, among others, and the whole thing has a joyous quality that comes from having some free time to gas up the car and explore with no agenda.
“American Country Love Song” is the first release from Owen’s forthcoming album. In addition to headlining the free Riverfront concerts during CMA Music Festival, he’s slated to appear at numerous festivals this summer and as a supporting artist on a pair of Kenny Chesney’s Spread the Love Tour stadium dates.
