See High Valley’s Live, Boot-Stomping ‘Make You Mine’
After spending much of 2016 on tour, High Valley will close out a busy year with an Audience Network concert special that highlights the Canadian country duo’s live show. Fueled by acoustic instruments, thick harmonies and the foot-stomping uplift of Mumford & Sons and the Lumineers, the group’s performance peaks with a run-through of their Top 30 single “Make You Mine.”
In the video’s exclusive premiere above, brothers Brad and Curtis Rempel stack their voices into blocks of bluegrass-influenced twang, backed by a band of pickers and percussionists who add some modern movement to the duo’s sound.
“We’ve been on the road all year long, and we’re definitely a road family,” says Brad, the group’s frontman, during a behind-the-scenes look at High Valley’s Audience Network taping. Meanwhile, brother Curtis plays mandolin during the performance, handling a role that was filled by the siblings’ childhood hero, Ricky Skaggs, on the album version of “Make You Mine.”
The High Valley concert special airs tonight, December 30th, at 9:00 p.m./ET on the Audience Network, DIRECTV Ch 239/U-verse Ch 1114.
