On Monday morning (June 13th), Frankie Ballard dropped by the set of Live With Kelly to share his latest single “It All Started With a Beer,” a warm-and-fuzzy toast to true love and being set up by a few good “Buds.” The song is the first single off Ballard’s just-released third album El Rio and it’s already cracked the Top 20 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.
Sporting a black jacket with a hint of sparkle, slicked-back hair and a red bandana tied around his neck, Ballard honed in on the song’s romantic heart with a thoughtful, soul-filled performance. His storyline felt like an honest look back at a real long-term relationship, and with a mellow slide guitar providing the song’s hook, created a vivid front-porch-reminiscing vibe. It’s almost possible to visualize the sun going down.
Next up for Ballard is an appearance on the Today show, and then he hits the festival and fair circuit with a show on Thursday, June 16th, at Country USA in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
