See Dolly Parton’s Candid Rocking-Chair Chat With Cam
“It’s not everyday you get to sit on a porch with Ms. Dolly Parton,” says Cam during the beginning of an interview with the queen of country music. Cam, one of the many young singers who revere Parton, recently interviewed the Pure & Simple singer for a new installment of Cracker Barrel’s Front Porch Series, in which Parton talks with a host of up-and-coming country artists, including Kelsea Ballerini, Raelynn and Lauren Alaina.
“It touches me that some of you younger artists seem to say that I’ve been sort of an inspiration,” says Parton.
Parton and Cam play a game called “Dolly or Not Dolly,” where they’re given a variety of humorous, occasionally bawdy, one-liners from throughout Parton’s career and must guess whether or not Parton herself had actually said them.
Parton also discusses her songwriting, her Imagination Library charity and her legacy with Cam.
“I’d like to be remembered as a decent person in this business, but I’d like for my songs to be remembered. I took my work very seriously,” says Parton, who is currently in the midst of her extensive Pure & Simple Tour.
