Dierks Bentley just released an emotional new video for “Black,” the title track and current single from his 2016 album. Watch the video above.
In the opening of the Wes Edwards-directed clip, Bentley stands in front of airplane wreckage on an otherwise idyllic beach before glimpsing a mysterious woman (played by Bentley’s wife Cassidy) in a long dress. Bentley pursues the woman to various scenic locales, while intimate shots between the pair fade in and out.
The passionate storyline of the video is the perfect accompaniment to the personal message of both the song and the album, as Black is a concept album exploring the difficult journey of two people in a long-term relationship. It was inspired – particularly this track – in large part by Bentley’s marriage.
“Black” is currently at Number 25 on Billboard‘s Top Country Songs Chart. Bentley is up for a Best Country Duo/Group Performance Grammy Award at this year’s ceremony for Black track “Different For Girls,” a duet with Elle King. His What the Hell World Tour kicks off January 19th in Dayton, Ohio, with guests Cole Swindell and Jon Pardi.
