Somewhere on a Beach tour mates join their voices on the Eagles classic

“Our goal with this whole tour is for y’all to come in, feel good, have a good time,” Dierks Bentley told his audience in late May, making a stop in northern Ohio during the first month of his summer-long Somewhere on a Beach Tour. “All the worries and stress go away. We just want you guys to take it easy, and I think this song kind of sums it up.”

With that, Bentley — joined by opening acts Cam and Randy Houser — launched into the Eagles’ 1972 hit “Take it Easy,” performing the song from a small auxiliary stage that jutted its way into the crowd at the Blossom Music Center.

In the clip above, the three singers take turns at the mic, each person singing a verse before joining the others for a heavily harmonized chorus. They keep things loose and lighthearted throughout, with Cam botching the words to her own verse and, later, Houser faux-prepping to take a dive into the crowd below. During the song’s final moments, when Bentley mistakenly sings the lyrics from the song’s first chorus, Cam and Houser happily croon along. It seems like they, too, are following the song’s advice, and “Take it Easy” winds up being exactly what its title suggests: a tribute to not sweating the small stuff, lyrical flubs included.

Tonight (June 17th) Bentley performs at Moondance Jammin’ Country Fest in Walker, Minnesota, and on June 19th he’ll play Buckeye Country Superfest in Columbus, Ohio.
