See Dan and Shay’s Dynamic ‘How Not To’ on ‘Kimmel’

Duo make their ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ debut with killer harmonies on latest single

It may be a song about the difficulty of moving on after a breakup, but Dan + Shay didn’t seem to be hurting during an energetic performance of their new single, “How Not To” last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live‘s outdoor stage. From their sophomore LP, Obsessed, the duo’s mid-tempo track is gaining swift rotation on country radio, anchored by Shay Mooney’s strong, Gary LeVox-esque vocals and smooth but not overt pop infusions.

The second single off of June’s Obsessed, “How Not To” is one of the few tracks on the LP that Dan + Shay didn’t have a hand in writing (it was penned by Adam Hambrick, Paul DiGiovanni and Kevin Bard), but is still true to the duo’s penchant for sticky hooks backed by harmonies as exact as their haircuts and tales of love both gained and lost.

Fresh from a series of dates abroad, Dan + Shay are on tour through fall, including a stop at this weekend’s Route 91 Harvest Festival.
