Looking relaxed, Brett Eldredge took to the Late Night With Seth Meyers stage last night to perform the new song “Love Someone,” which was released for streaming yesterday.
Clearly Eldredge’s dream girl in the song is a triple threat: she puts the cool in the breeze, the weak in the knees, and never fails to miss an opportunity to embrace the singer if he wakes up in the middle of the night. Channeling the same chipper, almost tongue-in-cheek territory as Eldredge’s current single “Somethin’ I’m Good At,” the breezy, uptempo “Love Someone” – which Eldredge wrote with Ross Copperman and Heather Morgan – seems to be made for live performances. Eldredge turns the syncopation up a notch from the studio version, while the band cranks up heavier percussion and a few extra guitar licks. Eldredge is obviously having fun with the catchy chorus and switching up the vocal delivery in this performance, not worrying too much about flubbing a lyric or two.
Brett Eldredge’s self-titled album drops on August 4th. He’s currently on the road with Luke Bryan’s Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day tour.
