See Brett Eldredge’s Breezy Live Performance of New Song ‘Love Someone’
Last week, Brett Eldredge debuted the first of three videos in his new performance series “The Airwaves Sessions,” an intimate, acoustic take on “Castaway,” off his upcoming self-titled album. This week, he and his band unveil their live version of “Love Someone,” an album cut he shared in early June.
“Love Someone” is a mid-tempo tune about falling in love, topped off with a big, infectious chorus. “The Airwaves Sessions” version of the song is faithful to the original, though Eldredge and his band throw in a few live flourishes. Eldredge co-wrote the song with Ross Copperman and Heather Morgan.
“That’s the one song of the sessions that’s a feel-good happy love song that breaks love down to the simplicity that it is,” Eldredge tells Rolling Stone Country. “It’s really groovy. That’s the only one that has the full band on it. And that’s really cool.”
Shot in an old airplane hangar, the “Airwaves Sessions” offer up exclusive live previews of three tracks from Eldredge’s upcoming third album. The inspiration for the sessions came from both Eldredge’s love of performing live, as well as his passion for travel.
“When I’m not playing music, I’m on a train or a plane or something, going to Europe or going to the mountains in Montana or on the West coast or up in New York,” he explains. “Wherever it is, I’m always trying to chase down some form of inspiration in life, and the richness of culture that inspires me to make music. It all tied together with doing this at this old airport hangar.”
Eldredge is itching to get his new album out, saying he “can’t wait” until Brett Eldredge‘s August 4th release date. The follow-up to 2015’s Illinois, the LP also features hit single “Something I’m Good At.”
“This is the best response I’ve had of any of my records yet,” Eldredge says. “The passion of my fans and the stuff I see through social media and through concerts, it’s just a whole new level of connecting with my fans. It’s even more inspiring to continue to open my heart and air it all out. I think the honesty shines through and that connection has been bigger than ever.”
Eldredge is currently on tour through the end of October.
