See Brent Cobb Fight Writer’s Block in New ‘Long Live the Storytellers’

Singer struggles to regain his creativity in the second episode of Ram Trucks’ personal new series

Even the best of songwriters can suffer from writer’s block – including Brent Cobb. The Georgia artist just can’t seem to find the words for his latest song in the second episode of Long Live the Storytellers, the creative new series from Ram Trucks.

Holed up in his hotel room, on the road away from his wife, Cobb continues to search for lyrics, scribbling on his notepad and strumming his guitar. He has the bare bones of a rhythm and a line or two, but ultimately the song evades him. As any writer is wont to do, he throws in the towel, retreating outside to toss horseshoes. It may seem like procrastination, but it’s actually a timeworn tactic to jar the mind back into creativity.

Soon, Cobb has to head off to his next gig – with the unfinished song still gnawing at his being. He calls his wife for moral support and pulls into the parking lot of the club, where he takes the stage to perform a song that’s been his rock to cling to up until now: “Country Bound,” written by his father Patrick Cobb.

The latest installment of Long Live the Storytellers, titled “Chasing the Music,” is the second in the four-part series, which concludes with a video for Cobb’s new song “Ain’t a Road Too Long” (set for release September 15th). Each episode tells a part of the story, celebrating the long road of a songwriter and showcasing the resilience, hard work, integrity and tenacity that the craft demands – the same values on which Ram Trucks were built.

Look for Episode Three next week.
