Sam Hunt to Headline Super Bowl 50 Tailgate Party

Back in his football-playing days, Sam Hunt was a promising college athlete quarterbacking for Middle Tennessee State University as well as the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While Hunt never got to play in the NFL, his rapid rise in country music has nonetheless earned him a ticket to the sport’s biggest event in 2016.
Before the Denver Broncos square off against the Carolina Panthers at Super Bowl 50, the “Break Up in a Small Town” singer will co-headline the Super Bowl 50 NFL Tailgate Party at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco, along with Nineties pop singer Seal. Both performances will be televised on Sunday, February 7th, as part of CBS’s pre-game coverage on The Super Bowl Today.
The week after the Super Bowl, Hunt will be in Los Angeles to perform with Carrie Underwood at the 58th annual Grammy Awards, where he is one of country’s most-nominated artists. In addition to a Best Country Album nod for Montevallo, Hunt is up for the all-genre Best New Artist honor with Courtney Barnett, James Bay, Tori Kelly and Meghan Trainor. That event airs February 15th at 8:00 p.m. ET on CBS.
In early March, Hunt will head to Europe for the C2C Festival in Scotland, Ireland and England. He also has an assortment of festival dates on the books, including Stagecoach and Bonnaroo, before joining up with Kenny Chesney’s Spread the Love Tour for a handful of stadium shows.
