Rascal Flatts’ Gary LeVox to Perform at Veterans Inaugural Ball

Singer will be joined by songwriters Neil Thrasher and Wendell Mobley at Washington, D.C., event

Though the talent scheduled to perform at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration is pretty slim, numerous notable artists have signed on to participate in inaugural balls constructed around the event. Rascal Flatts singer Gary LeVox is the latest, joining the Veterans Inaugural Ball – Salute to Heroes at the Renaissaince Downtown in Washington, D.C., on January 20th.

LeVox will make his appearance at the ball in partnership with Songs for Sound, a Nashville-based nonprofit that deals with hearing-loss detection and treatment. The organization was founded by LeVox’s brother and sister-in-law, whose daughter Lexi was born deaf. For his acoustic set, LeVox will be joined by songwriters Wendell Mobley and Neil Thrasher, who co-wrote the Rascal Flatts hits “I Melt,” “Fast Cars and Freedom” and “Banjo,” among others. Songs for Sound has worked closely with veterans over the years, donating more than $150,000 in funds and services for veterans, children and seniors dealing with hearing loss.

The Veterans Inaugural Ball, hosted by comedian and Marine Corps Reservist Drew Carey, will pay tribute to the 38 Medal of Honor recipients expected to be in attendance. The event was originally started in 1953 at the request of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, giving incoming presidents the opportunity to honor Medal of Honor recipients.

LeVox is one of a handful of country performers expected to be in the nation’s capital for inauguration-related activities next week. Texas favorite Randy Rogers will play at the Texas State Society’s Black Tie and Boots inaugural ball on January 10th, while Big & Rich with Cowboy Troy will be performing at the Great America Alliance Inaugural Gala, presented by the Republican Party of New York and the Trump-supporting Great America PAC.
