Miranda Lambert, George Strait Unveil New Albums: Ram Report
Miranda Lambert leads a busy country albums release day. The singer’s long-awaited album The Weight of These Wings explores vices, breakups and affairs of the heart. A double album broken up into two themes – one disc titled “The Nerve,” the other “The Heart” – The Weight of These Wings features some of Lambert’s most personal songwriting yet. As well as a duet with current boyfriend Anderson East.
One of Lambert’s Texas heroes also has a new project out today. George Strait is releasing Strait Out of the Box: Part 2, his second career-spanning box set. The compilation assembles some of Strait’s biggest hits from 1996 to the present and also includes a new song titled “Kicked Outta Country” written with Jamey Johnson. Strait recently promoted the collection with an intimate show at Texas dancehall Gruene Hall.
Other notable releases today include a live album from Travis Tritt, A Man and His Guitar, recorded in Franklin, Tennessee; a collection of album cuts by Faith Hill titled Deep Tracks; and Kacey Musgraves’ new holiday album, A Very Kacey Christmas, which features a duet with Willie Nelson.
