See Milk Carton Kids’ Spry ‘Younger Years’ on ‘Kimmel’
On Wednesday night, the Milk Carton Kids stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to play a pair of songs off their latest LP, the spritely “Younger Years” and a brooding, somber rendition of “All the Things…”
Pulling both songs from their June release, All the Things That I Did and All the Things That I Didn’t Do, the duo started off with “Younger Years,” a true group effort that saw Joey Ryan and Kenneth Pattengale share the singing, with Pattengale trading off guitar solos with the steel and violin players. Returning for “All the Things…,” however, put Pattengale at center stage, where he sang nearly unaccompanied through the verses, before the band dropped in on the chorus with Ryan picking up the harmonies.
Ryan and Pattengale took their first turn as the hosts for the Americana Honors & Awards in Nashville back in September, assuming the mantle from longtime host Jim Lauderdale. Their fall tour for All the Things That I Did and All the Things That I Didn’t Do wrapped up on Tuesday.
