Marty Stuart Reveals Late Night Jam Lineup, Performs on ‘Colbert’

Rhiannon Giddens, the Wild Feathers and Stuart’s wife Connie Smith all set to play annual midnight concert in Nashville

CMA Music Festival is just around the corner, and with it comes one of Nashville’s most anticipated annual events, Marty Stuart’s Late Night Jam. In anticipation of the 16th installment of the Jam, Stuart has shared this year’s stacked lineup.

Country-rock band the Wild Feathers, Americana vocalist Rhiannon Giddens and new singer-songwriter Ashley McBryde are all on the bill, along with Tommy Emmanuel, the Grand Ole Opry Squaredancers, comic Gary Mule Deer and Stuart’s wife, Opry queen Connie Smith and the Sundowners. Set for June 7th at 10:00 p.m. at the Ryman Auditorium, the freewheeling concert features the artists playing well into the night, as its name suggests. The Jam traditionally takes place the evening before the kick-off of CMA Music Festival and often features a number of surprise guests.

Last month, Stuart released his new album Way Out West, a collection inspired by the landscape and culture of the American West. He worked on the project with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ Mike Campbell in studios across California.

Stuart and his band the Fabulous Superlatives also dropped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night to perform the Way Out West track, “Time Don’t Wait,” blazing through the psychedelic country-rocker while grainy desert scenes tumbled by in the background.

Stuart has a number of upcoming tour dates, including headlining shows that run through the summer and a handful of stops on Chris Stapleton’s All American Road Show this fall.
