Loretta Lynn, Margo Price and the Milk Carton Kids will headline the seventh annual Americana Spring Celebration, a three-night concert series held March 30th through April 1st at Blackberry Farm resort in Walland, Tennessee. The event benefits the Americana Music Association, which has championed all three artists, most recently naming Price its Emerging Artist of the Year at September’s Americana Honors. Country-music trailblazer Lynn was the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014, while the Milk Carton Kids were named 2013’s Duo/Group of the Year.
Each artist will perform their own set on a specific evening of the event. Earlier this year, Blackberry Farm opened its new performance space Bramble Hall, where Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves and David Nail have already performed.
Lynn, Price and the Milk Carton Kids have all had particularly strong years, with Lynn and Price’s respective new albums – Full Circle and Midwest Farmer’s Daughter – both landing on multiple best-of lists. The women and their personal brand of songwriting also possess a broad appeal, attracting fans of both classic country and Americana.
Price told Rolling Stone earlier this year that such crossover can happen when audiences are given more to listen to, especially music outside the norm. “A lot of people like mainstream country because they’re not given another option of country music to like that’s modern,” she said.
Tickets for the Americana Spring Celebration are $1,000, plus lodging.
