When Super Bowl LI festivities overtake Houston’s NRG Stadium the weekend of February 4th, country music will be well-represented, with Luke Bryan, Lady Antebellum and Sam Hunt performing at events around the area – and Bryan singing at the Super Bowl itself.
Bryan has been tapped to perform the National Anthem just before kickoff, making him the first country artist to deliver the “Star Spangled Banner” at the NFL’s big game since Carrie Underwood in 2010. He joins an exclusive group that also includes Faith Hill, Garth Brooks and the Dixie Chicks.
Just before the game, Lady Antebellum and Tyler Farr will take part in the official pre-game party at the NRG Center, while Sam Hunt headlines a unique venue – he’ll play in a collapsible traveling nightclub that will also host performances by Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift.
Super Bowl 51, between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons, airs Sunday, February 5th, on FOX, with kickoff set for 6:30 p.m. EST.
