Luke Bryan Debuts Sexy New Duet: The Ram Report
It seems Luke Bryan is entering his Barry White phase. On the heels of his romantic Number One “Strip It Down,” the singer has released the duet “Home Alone Tonight” as his next single from Kill the Lights, premiering the sultry track last night with a live performance with Karen Fairchild on the American Music Awards.
Like “Strip It Down,” “Home Alone Tonight” finds Bryan once again playing a character. But this time, it’s one who has been dumped by an ex and takes his revenge by finding a one-night-stand at the bar.
“‘Strip It Down’ is the first time I’ve used that type of character singing,” Bryan told Rolling Stone Country earlier this year. “I go back and listen to my heroes, and part of being a recording artist is developing a character for each song. I’ve gotten a little better at that.”
Bryan clearly relished the AMAs performance with Little Big Town’s Fairchild — her LBT bandmates introduced the collaboration — and both exuded an onstage chemistry that elevated the duet far past its studio version. Earlier in the evening, Bryan won Favorite Male Artist – Country at the awards, while Carrie Underwood triumphed in the Female category.
