Loretta Lynn Suffers Stroke, Postpones Tour
Loretta Lynn has been hospitalized in Nashville after suffering a stroke Thursday night at her Tennessee home.
On Friday, the country legend postponed her concert tonight in Durham, North Carolina due to “unforeseen circumstances”; her concert Saturday night in Myrtle Beach was similarly canceled because of “Loretta’s very recent accident.”
Soon after, Lynn’s official website revealed that she had suffered a stroke.
“She is currently under medical care and is responsive and expected to make a full recovery,” the singer’s site notified fans. “Loretta, who just celebrated her 85th birthday, has been advised by her doctors to stay off the road while she is recuperating. Regrettably, upcoming scheduled shows will be postponed.”
However, the country star promised to rescheduled all performances once she has recovered.
In April, Lynn celebrated her 85th birthday by announcing the impending arrival of her new album Wouldn’t It Be Great. The singer was also feted at a pair of birthday concerts at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, with Martina McBride and Lynn’s sisters Crystal Gayle and Peggy Sue Wright also taking part.
