Live From the ACM Awards Red Carpet: The Ram Report
Chris Stapleton won four of the five categories in which he was nominated at the 51st annual Academy of Country Music Awards Sunday night — resulting in six shiny new trophies, as he’s a double winner (as artist and co-producer) for two of the honors. The “Fire Away” singer, who’s been behind the scenes as a songwriter for ages, continues his front-of-house hot streak after three CMA and two Grammy victories in the past five months.
Two-time ACM victors included Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town, who took home their respective vocalist categories as well as a win together for their “Smokin’ and Drinkin'” collaboration. And it was Jason Aldean who was crowned Entertainer of the Year, the night’s highest honor. (See the full list of 2016 ACM Awards winners here.)
Rolling Stone Country talked to several winners, nominees and performers on the scorching hot ACM Awards red carpet in Las Vegas. In the video above, check out our chats with the likes of Dolly Parton (a winner for her Coat of Many Colors TV movie), Keith Urban (one of the night’s best performers) and Dierks Bentley – who did a knockout job with Luke Bryan as co-hosts of the live broadcast.
