2014 was good to Lee Brice, who scored the year’s first platinum-selling country hit with the title track from his third album, I Don’t Dance. Meanwhile, Chris Young did a little chart climbing of his own, sending “Who I Am With You” to Number One and teeing up another song, “Lonely Eyes,” to become his seventh chart-topper in 2015. To celebrate, the two are kicking off the new year with a co-headlining tour that stretches from the Northeast to the South Pacific, with opening sets from up-and-coming guitar slingers (and “Rum” drinkers) Brothers Osborne

“Chris and I have been talking about touring together for a long time,” Brice told Rolling Stone Country earlier this week, during a break in tour rehearsals. “He’s a blast to be on the road with, and I’m glad we were able to make this happen. We’re both pretty excited to get out there and see everyone — from New York to Hawaii — later this spring.”

For Brothers Osborne, whose members spent the final months of 2014 crisscrossing America as openers on two major tours — Eric Church’s Outsiders World Tour (whose hometown gig last weekend set an all-time record for ticket sales at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena) and Little Big Town’s Pain Killer trek — the Brice/Young run marks the band’s final chance to hit the highway before buckling down and finishing their major-label debut. The brothers have been recording with producer Jay Joyce this month, working on the full-length follow-up to the EP that hit shelves during the first few weeks of the Eric Church tour.

Although Brothers Osborne will leave the Brice/Young tour before it heads to Hawaii, the two headliners will remain overseas long enough to make appearances at CMC Rocks, Australia’s biggest country festival. Also on the bill for the two-day event are Lady Antebellum, Big & Rich and Sugarland’s Kristian Bush.
