Lauren Alaina, Brantley Gilbert Unveil New Albums: Ram Report

Alaina’s ‘Road Less Traveled’ showcases the young artist’s keen songwriting; Gilbert’s ‘The Devil Don’t Sleep’ expands his brand of aggro-country

Lauren Alaina’s new album Road Less Traveled arrives today, January 27th, and reflects an emerging songwriter honing her craft. The 22-year-old co-wrote every song on the new record, the follow-up to her 2011 debut Wildflower.

The title track of the LP is currently in the Top 20, and Alaina performed the song during an intimate album preview concert on Tuesday night in Nashville. Produced by busbee (Maren Morris), Road Less Traveled boasts a polished, mature pop-country sound.

Brantley Gilbert also releases a new album today. While The Devil Don’t Sleep features brass-knuckled anthems like “Bro Code” and “Bullet in a Bonfire,” there are also more soul-searching tracks like “Three Feet of Water,” a spiritual tune about baptism. Gilbert’s current single “The Weekend” is also in the Top 20 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.

The Georgia-born Gilbert will hit the road in support of the album on February 2nd, while fellow Peach State native Alaina will join Luke Bryan on his summer Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day Tour.
