As has been previously reported, Lady Gaga is starring in a remake of the music-business drama A Star Is Born, a film that has been adapted numerous times since 1937. Gaga, billed by her given name Stefani Germanotta, plays a talented unknown who crosses paths with Bradley Cooper’s Jackson Maine, a country star on the decline.
Cooper also directs the film, which recently shot scenes at Coachella in Indio, California. Festivalgoers were encouraged to wear country-themed attire – denim, boots and cowboy hats. And Gaga has supposedly written new songs for the movie, perhaps best known for the 1976 version starring Kris Kristofferson and Barbra Streisand.
During her set, Gaga also unveiled the new song “The Cure,” a dancehall-inspired synth-pop track. The song arrives just six months after Gaga released her fifth LP Joanne, on which she collaborated with Nashville songwriter Hillary Lindsey. She debuted songs from that record during a surprise bar show in East Nashville in October.
