Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean Merge Tours for 10 Stadium Shows

For the past two summers, Jason Aldean has been following in Kenny Chesney’s stadium-sized footprint, playing some of the nation’s largest venues. But next summer, he’ll be walking right alongside country’s king of summer when the two launch their first-ever joint tour. The 10-date trek begins with a May 2, 2015, show at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco.
While supporting acts have yet to be announced, Aldean will perform first, with Chesney closing each night. The package combines Aldean’s highly successful Burn It Down Tour with Chesney’s new Big Revival Tour. The “Burnin’ It Down” singer recently released his sixth studio album Old Boots, New Dirt, which debuted at Number One on both the Billboard country albums chart and the all-genre Top 200 with 278,000 copies sold. Chesney’s The Big Revival also debuted at Number One upon its release in September with 130,000 copies.
“We’ve played so many of these stadiums so many summers, I know just how hard the fans coming out can rock,” Chesney said in a statement. “I know what me and the guys are bringing in terms of music, and I know Jason can hang with us!”
“We have a real friendship,” Aldean added. “Don’ get me wrong…that doesn’t mean I’m going to make it easy to follow me every night…he’s gonna have to work for it harder than he ever has before!”
