Josh Turner, Sunny Sweeney Lead Country Albums Release Day: Ram Report

Marty Stuart also arrives with a new record

Three eagerly awaited country albums highlight a busy new music release day.

Josh Turner and his river-deep baritone finally return with a new project. Deep South, his sixth record, is his first album in five years, following up 2012’s Punching Bag. Featuring 11 tracks, the album reunites Turner with producer Frank Rogers and includes the singles “Lay Low” and his latest, “Hometown Girl.”

With Way Out West, Marty Stuart releases a cinematic love letter to California and the mystical desert vibe that emanates from areas of the Golden State. Produced by Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell, the project is Stuart’s 18th studio album and his latest with ace backing band the Fabulous Superlatives. Stuart will host his annual Late Night Jam on June 7th at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.

And fresh off a record release concert on March 8th that drew famous fans Miranda Lambert and Patty Loveless, Sunny Sweeney unveils her new album Trophy. The highlights include the tortured “Bottle by My Bed,” about the pain some women feel over not having children, and “Nothing Wrong With Texas,” a tribute to Sweeney’s home state.

All three albums are available now.
