Jason Aldean Sets ‘Concert for the Kids’ Benefit Show

Second annual gig, slated for August 11th in Macon, Georgia, features a full-band performance by the singer

Jason Aldean has announced the date of his second annual Concert for the Kids. The “They Don’t Know” singer will perform on Friday, August 11th, in his hometown of Macon, Georgia.

The concert – this time featuring Aldean’s full band – benefits the Children’s Hospital, Navicent Health, in Macon. Aldean raised more than half a million dollars with last year’s inaugural benefit, an acoustic solo performance. Tickets to this year’s show go on sale June 23rd.

Aldean has had a busy year: in April he was named Entertainer of the Year for the second time in a row at the ACM Awards and has been touring extensively on his They Don’t Know Tour. The vocalist is also the subject of a new spotlight exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

“To think this all started by me playing guitar in my bedroom just because I wanted to learn to play guitar with my dad and my uncle … it’s sort of turned into this amazing career that is now on display here,” he told Rolling Stone Country at the exhibit “It kind of blows me away.”
