Jason Aldean Leads FarmBorough Lineup, Talks New Music

Tim McGraw, Toby Keith join the “Gonna Know We Were Here” singer at New York City festival

FarmBorough, New York City’s country music festival, returns to Randall’s Island this June with Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw and Toby Keith in the nightly headlining slots.

Set for June 17th through 19th, FarmBorough also features a mix of veteran artists and up-and-comers. Brooks & Dunn, Kacey Musgraves, Brantley Gilbert, A Thousand Horses, Billy Currington, David Nail, Eric Paslay and Lonestar are all on the roster, with more to be announced.

Last year marked the inaugural FarmBorough, the first major country festival to be held in New York City. Aldean, who spoke to Rolling Stone Country prior to his recent tour stop in Indiana, says he’s eager to perform for Northeast Corridor fans.

“The biggest thing with touring is the challenge of making it bigger and better than it was before. Luckily for us they’re coming out with new lighting pods and screens that make it look really different. We try to stay on the cutting edge of that stuff and take out some of the newer cooler things that are out there, that people haven’t seen a lot of in the past,” he says.

Aldean also says he’s in the studio, working on the follow-up to 2014’s Old Boots, New Dirt, and expects a new music in the spring. “We have been in the studio working on a new album, and have 10 or 11 songs I think for it so far. I was in the studio a couple days this week working on it before we came on the road,” he says. “We’re gearing up to put out a single in the spring, and the album to follow in the summer.”

Passes for FarmBorough go on sale on January 29th.
