Hear Zac Brown’s Mysterious Side Project Sir Rosevelt

Infectious debut single, “Sunday Finest” finds Zac Brown Band singer fronting an anonymous (at least for now) band with eclectic influences

Just days after Zac Brown Band announced their next album will harken back to their country roots, the group’s frontman releases the first single from a side project that blends a melting pot of influences.

Sir Rosevelt is the name of the mysterious new group whose other members are anonymous — at least for now, as the band begins its social media #WhoIsSirRosevelt campaign. The group’s debut tune, “Sunday Finest” was released without an ounce of press. “Put on your Sunday finest, and party like it’s Saturday night,” the Georgia native repeats in the dancefloor-ready tune that merges gospel with funk, big band jazz, Seventies disco, caffeinated R&B and, yes, a little bit of country.

Sir Rosevelt’s website features two burly, shirtless men flanking a Lana Del Ray lookalike — bandmates or just album cover models? We’re thinking the latter, but no one in Brown’s camp will give specifics on the group, nor on Sir Rosevelt’s album plans.
