Hear Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott Go Gospel With ‘Thy Will’

Inspirational tune is part of Hillary Scott & the Scott Family’s new faith-based album, ‘Love Remains’

With Lady Antebellum on hiatus, the multi-platinum trio’s Hillary Scott has been focusing on her family, spending time with young daughter Eisele and also working on a gospel album with her famous parents.

Scott officially revealed that new project today, posting a handwritten note on social media outlining the album’s details and also sharing a lyric video of its first single. Titled Love Remains, the project will feature vocals from Scott, her country star mother Linda Davis, father Lang Scott and sister Rylee, and will be listed under the name Hillary Scott & the Scott Family. Country/bluegrass/gospel legend Ricky Skaggs produced the record.

Comprised of new co-writes, lesser-known oldies and time-honored gospel staples, Love Remains was motivated, Scott shares, by “the cry of her heart.” She says she’s been singing songs like these her whole life, and they have given her the strength to get thorough good times and bad. “It’s my desire that these songs can be that for you, too,” she says. “That they will bring you hope.”

The album’s first single is called “Thy Will,” and features an uplifting message about letting go and letting God. Scott’s reverent vocals are front and center, with an epic feeling contemporary Christian soundscape following behind.

“I wrote this song about a very recent experience that left me heartbroken, asking why, and facing some of my most difficult days,” Scott says. “This song is my letter to God. As I ask some really hard questions, I hold onto the truth that there is so much to the story of my life that I can’t see, but that I still choose to trust in Him.”

Scott promises to reveal more about Love Remains in the coming weeks, including its release date and more of the stories behind her new songs. She’ll be back on tour with Lady A this summer, including a stop at the Kentucky Derby to sing the National Anthem on May 7th.
