Hear Keith Urban’s Vibrant New Single ‘Wasted Time’
Keith Urban’s brand-new single, “Wasted Time” is three minutes and 41 seconds of sheer exhilaration. The fast-paced, pop-laced tune waxes nostalgic on the magical younger years when “wasted time” — swinging on ropes, listening to Guns ‘N Roses and dashboard drumming — were some of the best times of his life.
Co-written by Urban, Greg Wells and J Hart, “Wasted Time” appears on the country superstar’s upcoming Ripcord album, due May 6th. “J suggested the title and before we knew it, we were talking about growing up and all the things you do. . . no matter where you are in the world. And the song just took off from there,” Urban recalls.
The new track marks Urban’s first time working with Wells and Hart. In fact, he enlisted several new collaborators on Ripcord — also including legendary Chic frontman Nile Rodgers and rap superstar Pitbull on a love song called “Sun Don’t Let Me Down.” Check out Ripcord‘s songwriter and producer credits on its full track list, below.
“Wasted Time” follows the singer-songwriter’s 20th career Number One hit, “Break On Me.” Ripcord‘s first single, “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16” also hit the country chart’s penthouse.
Urban will perform “Wasted Time” on American Idol this Thursday, March 31st on Fox.
