Hear Kane Brown’s Surging ‘Thunder in the Rain’
Kane Brown released audio for his new single “Thunder in the Rain” over the weekend, promptly sending the rising country star to the top of the iTunes sales chart. Written by Brown with Josh Hoge and Matthew McVaney, “Thunder in the Rain” will appear on Brown’s forthcoming major label full-length album.
Brown describes a love that feels like a potent combination of elemental forces. “You’re fire, I’m lightning, we’re burning at the core,” he sings to a chorus of whizzing synthesizers and speedy banjo plucking. “Every time our hearts collide I can feel our love come alive.”
“Thunder in the Rain” follows Brown’s single “Ain’t No Stopping Us Now,” which was released in June and also reached the top of the iTunes chart. That song failed to make an appearance on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart, but climbed to Number 19 on the Hot Country Songs chart, which incorporates streaming and sales data to determine rankings. Brown’s previous single “Used to Love You Sober,” from 2016’s Chapter 1 EP, reached Number 15 on the Hot Country Songs chart earlier this year.
Brown currently has numerous live appearances scheduled, including dates supporting Florida Georgia Line’s Dig Your Roots tour with Cole Swindell and the Cadillac Three. His full-length album expected in fall.
