Gillian Welch Extends ‘The Harrow & The Harvest’ Tour Dates
With Gillian Welch’s Grammy-nominated 2011 LP The Harrow & The Harvest soon to be released on vinyl for the first time, the singer and her musical partner David Rawlings have expanded the itinerary for their upcoming tour, adding shows in San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles and Seattle, along with a pair of performances in Portland, Oregon. Of the July 28th vinyl release of The Harrow & The Harvest on Welch’s Acony Records, the singer-songwriter says in a release, “We have been working and waiting 20 years to bring you our music on phonograph record. It took a while, because we wanted to do it the right way, the absolute best way humanly possible, and I believe that’s what we’ve done. No sonic stone was left unturned, no nuance let fall by the wayside.”
The vinyl release comes just two weeks before Welch and Rawlings most recent collaboration, Poor David’s Almanack, out August 11th.
