Country Music Hall of Fame member Garth Brooks has revealed Fun as the title of his upcoming studio album, sharing the news with fans during his weekly Inside Studio G Facebook Live chat on Monday, January 21st.
“It’s just the ‘Fun‘ album,” Brooks said during the discussion. “It’s just been a fun process to go through, especially being off from touring where you don’t have to worry if your voice is gonna be able to go in for sessions or not.”
Brooks said he expects to finish the project’s initial recordings this week, and the album will be released in the spring. Pre-orders are available through Amazon which lists four tracks on the album so far. Those include the honky-tonking current single, “All Day Long,” and the emotional ballad “Stronger Than Me,” which Brooks debuted at November’s CMA Awards. But the link also offers previews of two new, unreleased songs.
A demo version of “Courage of Love” comes off like a passionate mid-tempo (Brooks wrote the track for an America’s Got Talent finalist at the request of Simon Cowell earlier this year), while “The Road I’m On” stands as an upbeat anthem of appreciation. Brooks hinted about the track over the summer, saying he co-wrote it with Randall King and that “The Road I’m On” will be the show opener at his upcoming Stadium Tour.
The Garth Brooks Stadium Tour is expected to visit 30 stadiums over the next three years and kicks off March 9th in St. Louis, Missouri. Other stops include Glendale. Arizona (March 23rd), Gainesville, Florida (April 20th), and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (May 18th). Brooks recently sold out the historic Notre Dame Football Stadium in the first ever concert held there, part of his rain-soaked CBS special Garth: Live at Notre Dame!
