Florida Georgia Line Plot Summer Tour With Nelly
On the heels of releasing the video for the Backstreet Boys collaboration “God, Your Mama and Me,” Florida Georgia Line have announced their new summer tour dates beginning in June. Named for the opening track on FGL’s Dig Your Roots, the Smooth Tour will include supporting appearances by by hip-hop star Nelly and “Fix” singer Chris Lane. This trio of performers previously shared stages in May 2014, teaming up for a brief summer ballpark series on the This is How We Roll Tour.
Currently, Florida Georgia Line is headlining the Dig Your Roots Tour, which originally kicked off in 2016 with guests The Cadillac Three, Kane Brown and Cole Swindell. A new round of shows featuring guests Dustin Lynch and Chris Lane began in early 2017 with a sold-out weekend in Tallahassee, Orlando and Miami. “It’s as big as ever, it’s as loud as ever,” FGL’s Brian Kelley told Rolling Stone Country about the current leg of their tour. “It’s a roller coaster of emotion. We’re going [to] get you up, we’re gonna bring you down to church and we’re gonna get you high again.”
The Smooth Tour begins June 2nd in Austin, Texas, and wraps with a two-night stand in Alpharetta, Georgia on October 20th and 21st. Tickets for select shows are already on sale, with the remaining dates going on sale beginning Friday, February 24th. Kelley and singing partner Tyler Hubbard also just received five nominations for the 2017 ACM awards, including Entertainer of the Year.
