Before they embark on their first joint tour in a decade — the Soul2Soul The World Tour 2017 — Faith Hill and Tim McGraw will spend a little time on a very different stage in Los Angeles. The superstar couple is set to join the current season of The Voice as advisers for all four teams. This marks the first time the NBC talent competition show has cast two artists in that role.
“Having the perspective of performing live in many different venues, from clubs to stadiums, will help us in working with The Voice artists this season,” Hill says. “It’s important that they be able to connect with their audience.”
It’s been quite a week for Mr. and Mrs. McGraw, who celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary today (October 6th). On Tuesday, they performed a surprise show at Nashville’s iconic Ryman Auditorium, singing their own sets and collaborating on such classic duets as “I Need You” and “It’s Your Love.” Just before the show, they announced their 2017 tour, which is the third trek in their massive, record-breaking Soul2Soul franchise — which also parked in Las Vegas for a 2012-2013 residency at the Venetian. And on Wednesday, they both received stars on the Music City Walk of Fame in downtown Nashville.
Hill and McGraw’s first Voice episode airs October 24th, when the show goes into its “Knockout Rounds.” The country hitmakers will mentor the season’s final 32 contestants.
