Dylan Scott Scores First Ever Number One With ‘My Girl’
After a 46-week journey up Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart, Dylan Scott’s “My Girl” hits the Number One slot this week. It’s the first-ever chart-topper for Scott, who records for the independent label Curb Records.
The romantic song was inspired by the Louisiana native and his wife Blair’s more than 10-year love story and features Scott running through a list of things she does that melt his heart – including rapping along to an Eminem song.
Scott celebrated the news via an Instagram post with his band and crew. “Countless miles and hours away from our families, nights slept in a van, some days only enough money for the dollar menu, but today boys, we have the Number 1 country song in America,” he wrote.
“My Girl,” which has earned Gold certification with more than 500,000 copies, appears on Scott’s self-titled debut album. A deluxe version of the LP, featuring three new songs, will be released August 4th. Scott is currently on tour and will perform at the Faster Horses festival in Michigan on July 21st.
